Please note: Due to California privacy regulations and NNA recommendations, CA notaries do not photograph or digitally capture IDs. If you would like a copy, please instruct the signer to provide a photocopy to return with your documents or have them email pictures of their IDs to you directly. The most important instructions for a notary signing agent is to know if blue or black ink is preferred and if additional verbiage (like Trustee) is required in the signature line. Petaluma Notary only works with other companies that are professional, fair and understand the regulations of CA independent contractor law. Please make sure to include specific instructions (general disclaimers that are the same for every order are not enough) if your documents are not easy to interpret. Notaries are not responsible for trying to figure out what the specifics of the transaction are in order to instruct signers on how to sign.
