I have had my notary commission six years, and I have completed over 190 successful signings here in Virginia working with signing services around the United States. I have completed notary closings throughout the Shenandoah Valley and beyond. I use a mobile scanner with a laptop computer at the signing location using both private Wi-Fi and use a VPN when using public W-Fi internet access. I never use a drop box for documents. I only use an authorized Fed Ex or UPS shipping location that provides me with a receipt even if that means traveling out of my way. This is the reason why I charge more for my mobile notary services.
