I stay in constant contact with whomever hires me, keeping them updated immediately upon receiving documents, contacting the signers, completing the assignment and supplying tracking numbers when documents are dropped off.

As a notary I know to never express personal opinion or explain loan terms. That being said, a signing agent must be very familiar with loan documents. I can accurately explain what a document is and quickly direct the signers where to find the information they are looking for. In other words, I answer all "where can I find" or "what is this document" questions but direct any "why" questions dealing with loan terms, etc. to the party that hired me.
