However,PII, such as ID's, etc., are not to be handled by unsecured cellphones, laptops, etc., as they are a leading source of industry data breaches. All Title & SIgning Companies are strongly encouraged to switch to and maintain all ID verification scans, photos, etc., through secured vendor portals. Notary will NOT collect photo of ID's through any other method. Individual data devices are the leading cause of mortgage industry data breaches. We ALL owe it to our customers to prevent these from happening.
