I always know to ask whether the borrower is to print trustee behind his signature on trustee signings. I know certain lenders prefer it in certain specific ways.

I walk your borrower through all important loan docs: the closing statement, note, the deed or mortgage and the closing disclosure statement. Unlike some other notaries, I don't shove loan docs in font of a borrower and tell them to sign; if explanations are called for, then impartial explanations are given.
I always make certain your borrower knows what he is signing by guiding them through the loan docs. I understand I have to be impartial, but not uneducated.

If there are corrections to be made, say, to The Right to Cancel doc, I will make sure the borrower initials any corrections. If the lines are blank, I'll have the borrower fill in the dates themselves.
