I am currently a part-time teacher and I previously had both a 10 year career as a social worker and a 10 year career as a licensed independent insurance broker specializing in Medicare supplement insurance, short term medical and whole life insurance. In my previous career in social work I worked with children and families as well as with adults with severe mental illness and substance abuse and dependency in the field of non-profit community mental health. I have worked in rural and metropolitan environments from Portland OR to the Appalachian Mountains of NC and TN with a wide array of adults, children and families from varying cultural, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds. I enjoy advocating for people and connecting individuals and families to services that make their lives easier.
