I am a National Notary Association (NNA) Certified signing agent. I have successfully completed my training, exam, and background check with the NNA. I am a financial analyst with more than 15 years experience in the banking industry where I progressed in different roles with several financial institutions in North Carolina. This diversified financial experience has given me the opportunity to be more familiar with compliance and regulatory risks laws, rules, and regulations applicable to financial institutions.
In my current role as Credit Union Examiner, I conduct comprehensive risk-focused examinations to assess the safety and soundness of Federally Insured State Chartered Credit Unions. I review consumer and commercial loan files for credit union’s members to make sure they comply with policies, procedures, and all applicable laws and regulations.
In 2019, I earned the Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS) certificate which has strengthened my professional knowledge in the BSA/AML fields and enhanced my employer reputation. Since earning the certificate, I have completed most of my examination in BSA/AML reviews focusing on helping our credit unions better manage and enhance their BSA compliance programs.
In addition, I have completed several BSA/AML trainings with federal agencies. These trainings were offering the latest BSA, AML, Fraud trends, updates on recent regulatory developments, role of the supervisory authorities, as well as the role of technology in fighting against financial crimes.
Recently, I joined the Association of Certified Frauds Examiners (ACFE) to set for the rigorous CFE exam and earn the distinguished certification. The certification fraud program consists of the latest techniques related to Financial Transactions and Fraud Schemes, Law related to Fraud, Investigation, and Fraud Prevention and Deterrence.
I am running my notary signing agent business as a side business to leverage my prior experience and explore more opportunities.
