In addition to being a commissioned Notary Public in the states of Oregon and Washington, I am a LoanSigning Agent, certified by both LSS and NNA. My first professional career was as an attorney (in California, where I maintain my license). For thirty years, I specialized in the defense of architects and engineers; real estate agents and brokers; and doctors and lawyers—and as such, I’m comfortable dealing with a wide range of professionals and personalities. My legal practice also included contract negotiations and dispute resolution; commercial and
residential real estate litigation; and corporate and personal injury lawsuits.
Because of my extensive experience as an attorney, my LSS and NNA training, and the hundreds of loan signings I have completed, I recognize the importance of ensuring that all relevant documents are completed accurately and returned promptly. Because this process can be confusing and complex (not to mention written in legalese, a language foreign to most civilians), many people need help navigating the multitude of documents with legal-sounding titles. That’s where I come in: I can guide them, competently and with good humor, through the process. Having tried more than 150 civil jury trials, not only do I speak the layperson’s version of lawyerese, I can do it calmly, cogently, and concisely (all without offering legal advice).
I have a highly organized work ethic and am driven to succeed. Clients can count on my thoroughness, dependability, and responsiveness; furthermore, I am always on time to appointments, and will accept signings at any time. While I live in Portland, Oregon, I’m willing to travel an hour outside of the metropolitan area (or
farther, within reason) in order to complete signings. In short, my qualifications are unimpeachable, and I can guide you through the loan-signing process.
In my spare time, I volunteer as much as twenty hours per week at the Oregon Humane Society as a dog walker, classroom trainer, and new-volunteer mentor. For nearly three years I served on OHS’s Corporate Relations Council before being appointed in 2019 to the Building Committee, which has been tasked with overseeing the design and construction of its new $38 million state-of-the-art
community pet hospital, forensic laboratory, and behavior modification center. Those award winning facilities opened in late 2022. In recognition of my long standing commitment to the Oregon Humane Society a bench bearing my name now sits immediately outside the front door of the new community veterinary hospital.
