I have been honored to have served in many senior leadership roles in both uniform and as a federal employee with the Department of Defense for over 25 years in combined service. In addition to my experience managing defense programs, installations, and international engagements, I’ve served in the White House, Special Operations, Defense Agencies, and several Joint & Special Task Forces.In addition to being a small business owner, I also served two elected terms as Hutto Elementary School PTA Secretary (2020-2022). I was recently elected to my third year on the Executive Board as Vice President for Communications for the 2022-2023 school year. I also serve as a Youth Mentor to the Hutto Independent School District. Go Hippos!

I met my wife Nada, while stationed in Kuwait City and later we had our son David III, while assigned in Tokyo.In uniformI was an Infantry Rifleman in the United States Marine Corps and was screened and selected to be assigned to the White House Military Office Presidential Support Program. After Marine Boot Camp, I attended the Marine School of Infantry, the Marine Corps Security Forces School and upon graduation my first duty station was Guard Company, Marine Barracks “8th & I” Washington D.C.

In 1999, I was cleared for a Top-Secret/SCI “Yankee White” security clearance, and was assigned to the Marine Security Company on the Presidential Retreat at Camp DavidI was overseas in Okinawa, Japan on September 11th 2001. We soon left Japan and deployed in support of the Global War on Terrorism and ultimately I was responsible for the initial reception for enemy combatants, force protection and detention operations at Camp X-Ray, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

While at GTMO I proudly raised our nations flag and the New York City flag for the first time over “Freedom Heights” which we called our living area on a hill, overlooking Camp X-Ray while assigned to Joint Task Force 160. It was an awesome feeling. With us were many Navy Sea Beas from New York City who gave us t-shirts from many of the fire stations in the City. I still have mine today. After the Marines, I began my professional civilian career as a Federal employee with the Department of Defense where I still work today, in Austin, TX.
