In 2011 I completed a 32+ year career with the Federal Government, primarily the National Park Service. The last 11 years were spent in the Washington Office where I was a Legislative Affairs Specialist. I prepared Congressional testimony, drafted bills, created portions of the agency's legislative agenda, responded to Congressional inquiries and worked directly with the Department and other agencies and departments. After retirement I assisted my wife in operating her business doing the books, inventory, advertising, website and social media and other duties. I write a blog, The Occasional Sightseer, where I share with readers places that my wife and I have visited. I received my Notary Commission from the Commonwealth of Virginia in 2020 and also have an Electronic Commission with Virginia. My wife and I live in the Fredericksburg, Virginia area.
