I am a recent notary and a member of the National Notary Association. I am a certified signing agent and educated through the Loan Signing Service. I understand that an incomplete signing or a signing full of errors can cost a mortgage officer a rate lock, a buyer to miss a close of escrow, or cause funding conditions delaying everything. I do my very best not to miss dates, initials, or signatures BECAUSE again I know that leads to funding conditions.
I always ensure that the dates are correct on notice of cancel and I know to have the borrower initial any corrections to the notice of right to cancel if the dates had to be corrected. Or if the lines are blank, I'll have the borrower fill in the dates themselves.
